this book is very under rated!, i have used this series for step 2 and it really helped me on my test, and i am using this on my off time along with USMLEWORLD and it is great( the content overlaps but these explanations are more thorough.)

Full of Errors

Be careful! I am not even through the first section of this book, and I have found several errors: answers that are not consistent with their explanations, answers that are correct, but whose explanations are wrong and make no physiologic sense.

I was able to pick up these errors in subjects that I know well, but now I doubt the answers for subjects that I don't know well, like OB and surgery.

Another awesome book by Jean Vanier. This would be great reading for any community to share in. When I was a part of a community of people with disabilities and their families, I took parts of this book as weekly meditation material and it resonated so deeply. But anyone who is a part of a community life would benefit from this book, especially if the community seems to be "broken". This is one I keep on my bookshelf, and if it disappears (as they do sometimes), I buy another one.

Wisdom from struggles with the heart

In this short read, Jean Vanier touches on some of the primary heart issues with which people struggle. He is talking directly from his experience with his wisdom from the experience of working with and loving disabled people. One theme is give your life to others and see how God has designed us to live in community. The thoughts I had while reading is how to diagnose my own heart and my motives. Once my own agenda is stripped away and my actions are solely for others, which is rare, then I can see my own heart and superficial humility - and then there is an opportunity for real growth. This should be on the bookshelf of anyone seeking to serve others. There are many nuggets of wisdom in his words regardless of the people in your life: children, parents, coworkers, neighbors, etc.

Section Four clearly shows that if Jesus were not the Son of God, the only other alternatives are either liar or lunatic. The last section contains DR. Montgomery's essay "Christianity Juridically Defended." The book includes the transcript of a panel discussion in which Dr. Montgomery convincingly argues from the above four points to demonstrate their application for the reader. John Warwick Montgomery is considered by many to be the foremost living apologist for biblical Christianity.He is the author of more than fifty books in five languages.He holds ten earned degrees, including a Master of Philosophy in Law from the University of Essex, an LL.M. from Cardiff University, Wales, a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, and a Doctorate of the University in Protestant Theology from the University of Strasbourg, France.

A Great Resource For Exploring Whether Christianity Is True of False

'History, Law, and Christianity' by Dr. John Warwick Montgomery is short, but very sweet.

Although it is only about 124 pages, this work contains a lot of evidence regarding the historical evidence for Christianity, including the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Amazingly in such a small volume, the author is able to cover a lot of history, philosophical errors made by the opponents of Christianity, and much more. As Dr. Montgomery observes: 'The historic Christian claim differs qualitatively from the claims of all other world religions at the epistemological point: on the issue of testability'. He goes on to say, 'Eastern faiths and Islam, to take familiar examples, ask the uncommitted seeker to discover their truth experientially: the faith-experience will be self-validating'. He makes it clear that Christianity is testable. It can be believed based upon the evidence, rather than just some subjective feelings. I would recommend this book strongly. It will be of great help to anyone who is interested in exploring the truth or falsehood of the religions of the world.

Thoughtful and Useful Resource

"History, Law and Christianity" is a helpful tool when considering the reason behind following Christ. Though the book is short, there is plenty of content to explore. I recommend Dr. Montgomery's work as a worthwhile introduction to to historical support for Jesus and his claims.
